About Lena St Pierre
Meet Lena St Pierre – Counselling Intern
Introduction
Hello, my name is Lena St Pierre, and I am a counselling intern at Achieve Balance Counselling. I am deeply passionate about mental health and supporting healing within families, relationships, and especially children and youth. I believe that strong, secure relationships are foundational to well-being, and I am committed to helping clients repair relational ruptures and build meaningful connections.
I bring a warm, compassionate presence into the therapy room, creating a space where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I strive to make counselling approachable, supportive, and grounded in genuine care.

Lena St Pierre: Experience
Through my professional and educational background, I have gained experience working with diverse populations across the lifespan. I have supported neurodivergent children and youth, as well as those navigating psychiatric illnesses, developmental delays, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, and autism.
In addition, I have worked with young adults facing mental health challenges and adults experiencing moderate to severe substance use concerns. My earlier experience as a nursing student provided exposure to care across the lifespan—from pediatrics to geriatrics—shaping a holistic understanding of health and well-being.
With a strong foundation in psychology and family systems, I approach each client with a systemic lens, recognizing that individual struggles are often interconnected with family dynamics, relationships, and broader life contexts.
Clientele
I am especially passionate about working with children, youth, and families. I believe that children do better when their parents are also involved in counselling with them, which is why I am very interested in working with the whole family in family counselling. I also support young adults and individuals navigating emotional, behavioural, and relational challenges.
My areas of focus include neurodivergence, emotional regulation, behavioural concerns, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and emotional disturbances. I am particularly drawn to helping families strengthen connection, improve communication, and foster secure attachment relationships.
By tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs, I work collaboratively with individuals and families to identify strengths, set meaningful goals, and move toward lasting change.
Approach
In the therapy room, I strive to bring gentleness, patience, and compassion to every session. My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences and grow at their own pace.
My work is informed by several evidence-based approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). These approaches allow me to support clients in understanding emotions, strengthening relationships, improving self-esteem, and developing effective coping strategies.
By integrating these modalities, I help clients regulate emotions, navigate distress, and build deeper connections with themselves and others.
Values & Invitation to Book with Lena St Pierre
At the core of my work, I value connection, collaboration, and trust. I believe that healing happens within safe and supportive relationships, and I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance with every client.
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I understand the courage it takes to reach out. My intention is to make your experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible, offering a space where you and your family feel genuinely cared for.
I am honoured to walk alongside you and/or your child in your/their journey toward healing, growth, and greater balance. If you are ready to take the next step, I would be grateful to support you and your family in reaching your goals.
