Use the Contact Us button above and fill out the General Inquiries Form.
Where are you located and what are your hours?
Our Abbotsford location (Sandy Hill Office) is located at 3945 Waterton Crescent Abbotsford, BC. We currently have sessions available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. When you come for your session, feel free to park on the right side of the driveway and walk around the side of the house to the back where your counsellor will greet you at the start of your session. If this is your first visit, your counsellor will come outside and greet you in the driveway.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long.
What are your fees?
The cost of sessions depends on the experience level and additional training of your Counsellor. Each 50-minute session costs between $140 ~ $175 plus GST for a Registered Clinical Counsellor session. This cost is in line with the British Columbia Association for Clinical Counsellors’ (BCACC) recommended fee structure.
If you would like to see a Counselling Intern the fee for your session will be $50 plus GST.
Payment is due at the time of the session. Cash and e-transfers are both accepted. Your counsellor will let you know what email address to send e-transfers to.
Do you accept 3rd-party payers?
At this time we are not able to direct bill to Extended Benefit Providers (i.e. Pacific Blue Cross, Sunlife), but after you pay we will provide you with a receipt that you can use to submit for reimbursement. If you would like to access funding from your Extended Benefits please let us know in the New Client Inquiries Form so we can match you to a Registered Clinical Counsellor who can provide you with receipts for reimbursement.
If you have sessions covered by other providers/funders such as the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), Autism Funding (AFU), Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD), or Fraser Valley Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (FVACFSS), please let us know as we might be able to accept payment directly from them.
Do I have coverage for counselling sessions through my extended benefits?
Many extended benefits plans do cover counselling sessions that are provided by Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC). You will need to confirm directly with your extended benefits provider whether your plan covers RCC’s for counselling sessions, and how much coverage you have each year.
What if I cannot make my session?
Cancellation Policy – There is no charge to cancel or change a session with more than 24 hours’ notice. With less than 24 hours’ notice, full session fees will apply.
If you are a new client or do not have access to online bookings & cancellations, just send an email to your counsellor to let them know that you need to cancel.
If you are a current client and have access to online booking, just go into online booking and you can book, cancel, or change sessions at your convenience. Just log into your account through the Client Login button above.
All session fees must be paid before any additional sessions will be held.
What do the letters behind your name mean?
MACP: Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. In BC, “counsellor” is not a protected title, so this means that anyone can call themselves a counsellor. When someone has a MACP, it means that they have completed a Master of Arts university program (6 years of education post-high school). Most associations such as the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) require a Master’s level university program to be registered with them.
RCC: Registered Clinical Counsellor. The BCACC gives this designation to someone who has completed a Master’s level university program and has at least 100 hours of clinical supervision.
BCRPT: The BC Play Therapy Association gives this designation to those who have provided at least 2000 counselling hours with at least 500 hours being play therapy. The counsellor will also have received at least 200 supervision hours with at least 50 of those being specific to play therapy. In addition, the counsellor will have taken at least 180 hours of play therapy training after the completion of their Master’s program.
