Achieve Balance Counselling

Build a Counselling Career Without Building It Alone

At Achieve Balance Counselling, we believe that meaningful work is made better when you have the right people around you.

We are a growing counselling practice with offices in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, and we are always interested in connecting with thoughtful, compassionate clinicians who are looking for a professional home where they can do work they care about.

Joining a group practice does not mean giving up your independence. Instead, it can provide the opportunity to develop your own clinical identity while being part of a team that understands the work you do.

If you are considering a counselling career in private practice and would like to join our team, we invite you to learn more about who we are and what it is like to be part of Achieve Balance Counselling.

We Believe the Right Fit Matters

We are not looking to build a team where everyone practices in exactly the same way.

In fact, we value the opposite.

Every clinician brings their own personality, training, experience, clinical interests, and perspective. These differences make our team stronger and give clients the opportunity to find a counsellor or therapist who feels like the right fit for them.

At the same time, we share some important values. We care deeply about ethical practice, strong therapeutic relationships, individualized care, ongoing learning, and treating clients with compassion and respect.

We also believe that clinicians deserve to feel supported in their work.

For that reason, we look for people who value both professional autonomy and professional connection.

What Does It Feel Like to Be Part of Achieve Balance Counselling?

Private practice can be incredibly rewarding. It can also feel isolating at times.

You may love the freedom of choosing how you work, developing your own areas of interest, and building meaningful relationships with clients. However, running a practice can involve many responsibilities outside the counselling room.

Being part of Achieve Balance Counselling provides another option.

You can focus on your clinical work while benefiting from the systems, environment, and professional community of an established practice. You are still able to bring your own approach to your work, while knowing there are other clinicians around you who understand the realities of counselling.

Our goal is to create a workplace where clinicians can be independent without feeling alone.

A Team With Different Strengths

Our team includes clinicians with a range of professional backgrounds, training, and areas of clinical interest.

We have a particular passion for working with children, youth, parents, and families. Many of the families we support are also navigating neurodiversity, including Autism, ADHD, FASD, and other developmental differences.

Our clinicians have experience with therapeutic approaches such as play therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, EMDR, Somatic Attachment, Gottman Method, and other evidence-informed approaches. However, we recognize that strong clinical work is not about everyone using the same modality.

Instead, we value clinicians who are thoughtful about why they choose a particular approach and who are willing to continue learning.

We also welcome professionals whose primary areas of interest extend beyond the populations and approaches currently represented on our team. A growing practice benefits from bringing together different perspectives.

Room to Develop Your Own Clinical Identity

One of the things we value most about our practice is that clinicians do not need to fit into a particular mould.

Perhaps you have always been drawn to working with children. Maybe your passion is supporting teenagers, parents, couples, or adults. You may have specialized training in trauma, attachment, anxiety, neurodiversity, relationships, or another area.

Whatever your area of interest, we want you to have room to develop it.

Your clinical identity should reflect your training, experience, strengths, and the type of work you find meaningful.

At Achieve Balance Counselling, joining our team means becoming part of something established while still having the freedom to grow in your own direction.

Professional Growth Matters

We believe good clinicians remain curious.

Completing graduate school or obtaining a professional designation is an important milestone, but it is not the end of professional development. Our understanding of therapy, neuroscience, trauma, attachment, neurodiversity, and therapeutic approaches continues to evolve.

We value clinicians who are interested in learning and growing throughout their careers. We encourage our clinicians to continue developing their skills and clinical interests through ongoing learning and specialized training, including opportunities such as the play therapy training offered through the Canadian Association of Play Therapy (CAPT).

Professional growth can look different for everyone. For one person, it may mean pursuing specialized training. For another, it may involve developing confidence with a new client population. Someone else may want to deepen their understanding of a particular therapeutic approach.

Whatever growth looks like for you, we want to support a culture where learning is valued.

Counselling Internships & Practicum Opportunities

We also welcome counselling students who are looking for a supportive environment in which to begin developing their clinical skills.

At Achieve Balance Counselling, we believe professional development begins long before graduation. A practicum or internship can be an opportunity to learn from experienced clinicians, develop your clinical identity, and gain meaningful experience working with clients and families.

Our practice works primarily with children, youth, parents, caregivers, and families, and many of the clients we support are neurodivergent. Students who are interested in developing their skills in these areas may find Achieve Balance to be a particularly meaningful place to learn.

We recognize that students are at different stages of their development, and we value curiosity, openness to learning, thoughtful reflection, and a willingness to grow.

Our Offices

We currently have counselling spaces in both Abbotsford and Chilliwack, giving clinicians the opportunity to work within welcoming, professional environments in the Fraser Valley.

Our Abbotsford office offers spaces suitable for both children and adults, along with access to outdoor space. Our Chilliwack location is situated on five acres and provides a large counselling room with beautiful views of the surrounding nature.

The physical environment matters to us because counselling is more than what happens during a 50-minute session. We want our offices to feel comfortable for clients and clinicians alike.
